B-Day Party

AW's party was fun. Fred and Dohara got me flowers:

I love them with my heart--both the flowers and Fred and Doh.
The cupcakes were super sweet, but good. I shared one with Josh. Josh and I sang, very poorly, the song from the asteroid movie. I'm pretty sure Josh thinks he's Steven Tyler.

I'm failing at finishing my tank top. I've done one of the arms, but need to do the other. I haven't really been able to figure out how to reverse the shaping. I'm also still only half way on James' blanket. I hope Jim understands that his middle daughter is a total flake.

My Birthday!

Okay, my birthday is really the 28th, but I'm having a party on Saturday. Actually, AW is having a party on Saturday, and I took it over and made it my birthday party. I'm bringing cupcakes from Michelle Marie's Patisserie.

Flies

So, Josh is sick and we've been fighting flies for days. It's like my house is like their club house and they all meet up and then sit on the window next to me (wow, bad grammar). Okay... it's not that bad (the fly problem, not the grammar--which is horrible). Honestly, it's gotten much better lately (again, the fly problem).

I think, and this is just a guess, that the flies are flying into the house via the back door which someone is leaving open all the time. Okay, me, I'm leaving it open.

Josh has been using our electric fly catcher (okay, it's really a vacuum) to fix the fly problem. I was only able to catch this one in the act because he's currently near death on the couch (Josh, not the fly).

So, what does all of this have to do with knitting? Absolutely nothing. A smart, but somewhat egotistical, boy told me that this blog is just a way to bitch about my life and hide behind knitting.

Apple Pie

So, I made an Apple Pie... It's pretty much brain surgery. I still have massive problems with the edge.

I think it's kinda the same problem I have with everything. I rush and then it comes out mediocre. That's probably why I can't seem to save my life and the all the nice things I knit are done in the round.

Tank Top Secret Project!

So, I've been working on this super secret tank top project... it's super secret because I'm afraid it's going to suck and don't want another public octopus FAIL. And, it's even yellow!

Anyway, this is the tank top pattern:


I have the back already done. Below is a picture of the front. I'm about half done. I'm really scared about seems.

Fingerless Gloves

I put the blanket down for a little last night and finished the thumb and a second finger on my fingerless gloves. They should be done tonight. It's exciting to almost have a completely finished project.

I ordered some yarn to make a green skirt to wear to John's wedding. I don't think I'm going to make it though. It's a big project to finish in a month--especially with huge blanket still uncompleted.

I got my pattern book! I won't be able to start a project until I finish the blanket, fingerless gloves and get at least half way on the table runner, but I'm excited. I've decided to send the blanket to James. I don't think John and his partner would enjoy it. I thought Jim might really like it if I sent him something I made. The blanket is almost 1/3 of the way done. It's a huge project.

Miles gave me some yarn he found. It's pretty and gray and I want to make him or Tiff something amazing. He's leaving work and moving to the City. I will miss him with my heart. Josh had me move our lunches tomorrow so we can have a goodbye lunch. Tomorrow is his last day.

Title

Okay, so after my knitting break, I'm ready to start again. I'm knitting a throw for my cousin's wedding and a table runner for me. I'm going to ditch the ugly yellow cotton handbag and try again with a pretty orange wool. I'm really interested in knitting something amazing for me. I want to knit this:

Berroco "Justina"

I finished josh's fair isle gloves and knitted a pair for me (I haven't finished the fingers on the left yet). I found that making the fingers shorter is a much easy task and makes prettier gloves. Pictures tonight!

Knitting Again

So, I've finally found time to start knitting again. I have like zero money, and the pictures still aren't on the wall, but I want to knit. I finished Josh's fingerless gloves. They're okay... not horrible maybe. He loooooooooooooves them with his heart hole and promises to wear them every day--even in July. Sometimes he's nice :) I started a pair of purple fingerless gloves right after I finished his--I mean it only took like 4 months to finish the first pair.

I want to knit a blanket or Afghan or whatever for John's wedding, but I can't find a pattern. I wanted some cute Westerny easy cowboy thing. I'm failing.

POSTING ZOMG

So, the house is almost completely set up. I have some pictures to hang and a box or two, but it's getting there! I've been knitting a little on the side. I'm almost done with Josh's second glove and the yellow bag. I'm going to start a white cotton table runner... we'll see how that goes. And, Heather and I might start end paper mitts--if we ever get our lives together.

Will post inside house pictures soon, and I'm thinking we need a bbq house warming party!

New House

So, we're all moved. Thanks to Ondina, Heather, Jasper, Wes, Tyler, Juston and Nolan. You are all amazing! We really appreciated the help moving and loves you all with the heat of a million sunshines.

No knitting yet! I have a lot to do and probably will not be back to knitting for days and days. First project: finish Josh's tron gloves. I'm pretty sure I'll be living by myself if I don't finish them soon.
